Currently my wife Dr Livia and I are studying for surgery memberships, and it's the most study I've undertaken since uni.
I've often studied small topics outside of work, gone to cod events and done online lectures, but nothing as consistent this.
It's good to have a proper and direction for the study, and most importantly I find it interesting and fun.
It reminds me of what studying at uni was, spending lots of time learning about subjects that deeply interested me.
It's definitely the most intense intrinsic or self driven learning that I've done in a long time.
It's hard to return to so much study, though the topic is really interesting and studying surgery definitely fuels me up! I'm glad to be on this journey, hopefully I feel that way come exam time!
The other part of leaving post uni is on the job from those around you and from the opportunities at work.
We are lucky that we work in a profession is full of smart and dedicated people, with different strengths and weaknesses. Each job I've worked at has been different and given me different opportunities. The question I ask myself daily is what can I learn here?
Remember that vet is a interesting and exciting world, make sure you explore it!
